Police say a well-known drug mert from Parkwood is behind bars after he was caught trying to flush a R6000 shipment of drugs down the toilet.
The 24-year-old, who allegedly merts for the Americans, was caught by wakker cops from Grassy Park SAPS on Thursday.
Station commander, Colonel Dawood Laing, says while out on patrol, officers got a tip-off about the drugs.

“They went to the property in Parkwood Avenue, but the occupant took long to open the door,” Laing says.
“One of the officers ran to the back and heard a toilet flushing.
“The officer found that drugs had already been flushed, but then he saw a hole in the roof and when he put his hand inside he found the rest of the drugs.”
Officers found 178 whole mandrax tablets, 53 packets of tik, 20 half mandrax tablets, 20 dagga stoppe and one parcel of dagga with an estimated street value of R6000.
Laing says the mert will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
“The swift action by the officers is commended and we thank the residents for working with police to take drugs off the streets,” the top cop adds.
