A Samora Machel woman has been charged for the murder of her husband.
On Sunday the suspect allegedly stabbed the 33-year-old victim in the side and after he was rescued by the neighbours, she attacked him again.
The couple, who had been married for two years, lived with their two-year-old son who was present when the fight started.
A community member says: “It was after midnight when we heard him shout that he was being stabbed by his wife.
“People went to his house and got him out, he was wearing his underwear.
“And people asked the wife to go and find his pants, no one knew that she had the knife hidden in the pants.”
The vrou tells the Daily Voice that the suspect took out the knife and stabbed her husband again.
“She stabbed him in the chest and he was then transported to Lentegeur Hospital where he died.
“That was the last time we saw the man alive and the woman, she never came back.”
The resident says the deceased was drunk during the incident.
“He had just come home and I don’t exactly know what the fight was about. They would always fight but it never reached a point that any of them were injured.”
SAPS’ Joseph Swartbooi says the woman made her first appearance in Athlone Magistrates’ Court.
“The circumstances surrounding an incident that occurred in Oscar Mpetha Street, Samora Machel, on Sunday are under investigation.
