She might be the smallest on her team, but little Leah Miller from Athlone is raking in all the big awards for her dancing.
The pint-sized 10-year-old lives in Silvertown in Athlone and is the youngest dancer at Rhythm Factory dance studio in Kenilworth.
Last month, she scooped three gold medals at the South African Body of Dance competition where more than 20 teams battled it out at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
“I’m still amazed, I was shocked when they called my name and I’m really grateful for the medals,” Leah tells the Daily Voice.

The little dancing diva won gold for her solo performance, a duo performance and also for crew performance with Rhythm Factory.
“I really admire my dance instructor, Teacher Vee, she is my biggest motivation,” says Leah.
The meisie was five years old when she started ballet as a hobby, but when she went to Groote Schuur Primary the following year, she discovered hip hop and there’s been no stopping her since.
Her mom, Liezle Miller, 33, and dad, Rafeeq Miller, 31, signed her up for dance classes and she was scouted by Elvina “Vee” da Silva who nurtured her talent up to now.
Teacher Vee says: “Leah’s performance was clean and exciting and she had paid particular attention to detail.
“These are the qualities we look for at the Rhythm Factory when auditioning new dancers for our crew.”

In 2017, Leah featured in a music video called the Original Swimming Party - Biggest Curse, featuring Moonchild Sanelly.
“Whenever I hear a beat, I dance. It doesn’t even matter what kind of beat or music it is. Even when I shower, my mommy must play me a song,” says Leah.
The 10-year-old says she wants to be a professional dancer when she grows up.
“I have a dream of going big in the entertainment industry one day, I’m already working at being the best I can right now,
“If I grow just a little more, I can become a professional dancer and go big, but before that, I first want to go to Disneyland,” says the bubbly little girl.
