A woman known as “Minnie Mouse” has been stabbed to death during a catfight over a man.
Theresa van Wyk, 30, left her Hanover Park home to hook up with a man who she smoked drugs with.
A few hours later she got involved in an argument with the ou’s girlfriend, who allegedly stabbed her to death in Johndown Walk.
Theresa, or Minnie Mouse as she was fondly known due to her petite build, was stabbed multiple times in her back and chest.
Her mom, Sarah, 46, says the street and walls were full of her daughter’s blood, which cops said had to be cleaned up by Thursday morning.
“Someone came to tell me that my daughter was lying just a few houses away from our home,” says Sarah.
“I rushed out there and I arrived at a bloody scene, she was just covered in blood.
“It was such a terrible sight to see, even the walls were red.”
The hartseer mom explains her daughter died while the paramedics were still trying to save her: “She was still breathing when I got to the scene but she didn’t speak.
“The paramedics took out their machines, she was given oxygen and they tried to save her but sadly she died as they were still busy with her.”
Sarah tells the Daily Voice the suspect and her daughter were fighting before she was viciously killed.
“I was told that the girl’s boyfriend called Minnie to his Wendy house to smoke buttons and he locked the door so the suspect would not come in and catch them smoking.
“When they were done, they went their separate ways,” Sarah says.
“She was attacked from the back, Minnie fought back but she was overpowered.
“The girl killed my daughter over a man she only smoked with.”
After the stabbing, the suspect fled the scene.
“She ran into someone’s house and was hiding in there and only came out when the police arrived. The community was there trying to get her out but she wouldn’t come.”
Police spokesman André Traut confirms a 25-year-old woman was arrested for Minnie’s murder.
He said the suspect is due to make a court appearance once she has been charged.
