Two men were shot and one killed within one kilometre in Bonteheuwel on Sunday afternoon.
Tashreeq “Tas” Ishmail, 25, was killed in Loganberry Street, allegedly by someone unknown to him.
Witnesses said the gunman shot Ishmail in the head and walked off.
“There was no argument, just the cold-blooded shooting. People ran for cover as the shooter ran off,” one resident, who did not want to be named, said.
Within an hour, police also responded to a shooting in Redberry Street where a man was shot in his leg.
A man only known as Gamat was thought to be dead, but as cops arrived, he showed signs of life.
It is believed he played dead in case his shooter decided to return and finish him off.
According to residents, a gang war is raging between the Stupa Boys, the Junior Cisco Yakkies (JCY) and the Junky Funkys.
On Friday, 17-year-old Moegamat Faqeer Ely became the first victim when he was shot and killed at the “House of Horrors”, located in Loganberry Street.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed the shooting in Loganberry Street, but not the Redberry Street one.
“A case of murder is under investigation following a shooting incident in Loganberry Street, Bonteheuwel,” she says.
“According to reports, police attended to the complaint at the address and upon their arrival they found a 25-year-old man with several gunshot wounds to his body.
“Police detectives are following up on possible leads with no arrests so far.
