The murder trial of Tazne Van Wyk will be moved at the Western Cape High Court later this month.
Murder accused Moehydien Pangaker made a brief appearance at the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on Friday morning where he was informed that he will now face additional charges for the events that led up to the young girl’s death.
The disappearance of the eight-year-old meisie from Ravensmead sparked an outcry on the Cape Flats in February after she was snatched just meters from her home.
Police launched a manhunt for Pangaker, who was later charged with her murder after her decomposed body was found dumped in a drain in Worcester.
On Friday Tazne's family was left disappointed when they arrived at court but were told they cannot enter.
The state prosecutor told the Daily Voice the matter has been postponed to 17 August for the indictment to be finalized and the matter transferred to the High Court.
