A Glencairn restaurant owner who tried to bribe law enforcement officials has been arrested.
The woman was unable to produce an invoice for over 850 rock lobsters in her possession and then allegedly tried to buy the City’s marine unit’s silence with R15 000.
The City’s JP Smith said the arrest took place on Saturday as officers conducted restaurant inspections.
Smith said this arrest served a “timely reminder that poachers enjoy support even in the local market”.
