They have washed and blowdried hair till their arms felt like they would fall off, but last week these two matric pupils reaped the rewards of all their hard work.
The meisies from Delft started their own hairdressing business, going round to the homes of clients, all in an effort to raise funds for the matric ball of their dreams.
The girls and their cousin, who offer low prices for washes, blowdries and flat ironing, are known as Courtney & Co.
And last Thursday, they stepped out in style for their matric balls, dazzling in stunning dresses setting pulses racing in larney sports cars.
Their dresses were made by seamstresses in Delft and the girls had their hair and make-up professionally done “because we mos worked for it”.
It was a fairytale come true for Courtney Johnson, 18, who unlike Cinderella and her R5 pampoen, was whisked away to a ball in a gold Maserati, worth a cool R3 million.
Courtney attends Perseverance High School and her ball was held at Rasticana in Paarl.

When the car, which was a surprise gift from a sponsor, pulled up at her door, the teen, who was still getting dressed and having her make-up done, screamed and cried from excitement.
So much so that her make-up had to be re-applied.
“I was so surprised at the car. Nobody told me I was gonna have a Maserati and I cried,” Courtney said.
“I felt like a princess and it was all thanks to my family. My parents made me very happy.
“I enjoyed everything and will remember it for the rest of my life.”

Family and friends came together to make the table a success, presenting Courtney with a lavish cheese and wine spread and her mother, Beulah Brown, 38, said it was “a hell of an affair” to get everything arranged, “but she’s worth it”.
Meanwhile, Nikita Coulsen, 18, who attends Voorbrug High School in Delft, and who lives around the corner, wasn’t to be outdone and her tafel was just as kwaai.
There was a massive banner with her face on it and a stunning hired red BMW Z3 two-door convertible revving outside, ready to take her to her ball.
The car was a gift from her family as well.

Nikita says she could not believe how well everything worked out.
“From my dress, to my shoes and the red carpet, all of it was everything I wanted it to be. I really just got to thank my family.”
The girls each spent about R20 000 of their own money.
