A Heideveld oupa is behind bars after he was caught selling tik from his council flat yesterday morning.
Neighbours living in Noreen Court cheered as cops handcuffed the angry man after finding his drugs hidden in an ice-cream bakkie in his kitchen.
Shortly after 9am, police vans were seen surrounding the court as officers ran straight towards the oupa’s flat where they found him with the tik.
Acting Manenberg SAPS commander, Colonel Sanele Zama, says the officers were out on patrols when they received the tip-off.
“Neighbours called the officers to say the 56-year-old man was selling the drugs from his council flat. When they arrived they found 10 packets of tik, a scale used to weigh the drugs and a price list.”
During the search the angry oupa started skelling at police as they demanded to know where the rest of the drugs are.
“ Daai pakkies is vir my, meneer. Wie het gesê ek verkoop, meneer? Julle praat k*k, meneer.”

In response, a constable quipped: “Just tell me where the rest of the tik is! We know there is more here or did you sell already today?
“Do your customers come early? What are you then doing with a scale?
“You are too old for this, man, oupa. Stop this nonsense man or we will just come back every time”.
While being put in the police van, a group of aunties wearing gowns had gathered and cheered as officers took him away.
“ Die oupa kry mos nie Sassa nie,” a woman was heard saying.
Zama says the oupa is expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court soon.
