A suspected gangster walked into a Manenberg school and opened fire before school started.
Law Enforcement officers were called to Phoenix High School on Thursday morning.
The Western Cape Education Department’s spokesperson, Bronagh Hammond, says no one was injured.
It is believed the shooting is related to a turf war between the Hard Livings and the West Siders gangs.
“This happened about 5 minutes before school started,” says Hammond.
“It was alleged that no one specific was targeted. Teaching and learning had resumed, but understandably educators and learners were shaken by the incident.”
