A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital on Tuesday morning after he was stabbed at a school in the university town of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics arrived on the scene after 11am.
Security members were already there.
"After the security members retrieved the patient, medics found that the boy had sustained a stab wound to his back and face. The boy was treated and thereafter transported to a provincial hospital for further care."
Meiring said details were still sketchy.
