One of the four men arrested after being found with the stolen guns of two murdered Law Enforcement officials was behind bars three years ago for allegedly killing a cop.
Ashwin Kennedy, 22, was just 19 in 2016 when he was arrested for the murder of police officer Amanda Ladlokova and injuring her colleague.
Police sources reveal the four male suspects were dik gemoer while being interrogated and were treated at Mitchells Plain District Hospital on Wednesday night shortly after their arrest in Ramaphosa Village in Nyanga.
One of the men is allegedly a member of the Hard Livings gang.
The four, aged 19 to 33, and a woman were arrested within hours of Parow officers
Jannie Nieuwenhuys, 54, and his colleague, Simthembile Nyangiwe, 49, being shot and killed and robbed of their
firearms in Philippi, where they were escorting a construction crew.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesman, Eric Ntabazalila, says four of the five suspects appeared in court on Friday while a fifth was in hospital.
Their bail application will be heard on 3 October.
In a video leaked to the Daily Voice, three suspects are seen sitting in a police holding cell.
One of the suspects says his surname is Witbooi and he’s 23.
An officer, speaking in Xhosa, is alarmed at this and says: “You are 23, but you know how to kill a traffic cop?”
He then says the first suspect “was not beaten enough” and tells him: “ Voetsek, lift your head.”
Another suspect speaks up clearly, stating his name is
Ashwin Kennedy, aged 22.
The cop says: “ Jassis, all of you are young.”
The third man says his name is Bongani and that he and Witbooi are from the Eastern Cape, but now live in Samora Machel.
DEAD: Simthembile Nyangiwe
On 22 November 2016, Ladlokova and her colleague were attending a domestic violence incident in Philippi-East when a woman asked them to help with another situation.
When they arrived at the second house, shots were fired.
Ladlokova was shot three times while her colleague was wounded in the neck.
Witnesses claimed Kennedy stole the cops’ guns.
Police and the NPA did not respond to queries about why Kennedy was released.
