Employees of alleged skuld skelm, Bevan Jacobs, have now also come
forward to complain about him, claiming he failed to pay their salaries.
Two former staff of Jacobs’ debt review
company spoke to the Daily Voice on condition of anonymity.
A 21-year-old Bishop Lavis woman, who started working as a debtors clerk in October at Jacobs and Associates, says she was promoted to personal assistant in January.
“I started in October and my salary was to be R4 500. One month I’d receive R1 500, the next R500 and in January and February I was not paid at all,” she says.
“In January, he changed the company’s name to
Premium Debt & Legal Solutions and I started getting suspicious.
“The money he was paid by clients he transferred to his personal accounts.
“He used the money of his clients to entertain in his
private life.
“He never did anything for any of his clients.
“Their files were never touched.”
The woman says she took Jacobs to the Small Claims Court for her unpaid salary.
Jacobs denied any wrongdoing.
“We appeared in March but he never pitched.
“I called, SMSed, emailed, and WhatsApped him but he just ignores me,” she says.
“And his words were always, ‘bad publicity makes a person more famous’,” she adds.
Jacobs, from Kuils River, first made headlines earlier this month when a Kensington woman said she went under debt review and paid him R50 000 over several months before learning he never paid any of her creditors.

Another 21-year-old woman from Kuils River says she worked for Jacobs in April, but when it came to getting paid, they were told the company was closing down.
“It was not just a debt review company but also a recruitment agency, and I was a sales executive,” she explains.
“My salary was R4 500 and we were going to get paid on the last day of the month.
“On that day I received a WhatsApp message to say we will not be getting paid, the company was closing down and we had to fetch our belongings at the office.”
Bevan Jacobs "is living his best life,” said a former employee. Picture supplied
The woman says she wants her money because Jacobs “is living his best life”.
“He drives the latest A45 AMG Mercedes-Benz.
“He has chauffeurs and takes his girlfriend to luxury places in Cape Town.
“Why doesn’t he use that money to pay his clients and staff?”
When the Daily Voice contacted Jacobs for comment on the latest allegations, his response was: “I will address the media soon.”
