Crime fighters in Hanover Park have raised the alarm about a shocking new primary school yard game, called “ Vang my, n*** my”.
Rumours of the new game surfaced last week as patrollers shared their disgust after hearing children as young as nine-year-old were chasing each other during intervals calling on classmates to “catch them and sex them”.
According to a teacher from a local primary school, who asked not to be named, says she got a skrik when she heard Grade 3 children were participating in the game.
She says when she questioned the children, aged between 9 and 10, they told her once
they are caught they make “old fashion” or ougat.
“I cannot confirm if they are imitating sexual acts, but I got the shock of my life when they said old fashioned,” the onnie says.
“I asked them what they meant and they asked how I could not know when I have children, so you can hear they have groot gedagtes.”
The teacher says she spoke to teachers at other schools who told her it was an “old game”.
ALARM: Concern over sex game played at Hanover Park schools
Hanover Park Community Police Forum (CPF) chairperson, Ebrahiem Abrahams, says the game is also being played at high schools and they now fear some kids may take things too far.
“We are all very shocked and very disappointed, but most of all we are worried that a game of this nature is being played.
“Even more worrying is the age of the children and their understanding of what they are doing.
“In our crime meeting I spoke to a teacher at a high school in Grassy Park and he said it was an old thing and that there were videos of it.
“My worry is that the one day the children are imitating and then the next day one child forces themselves on another for real and then they say they are playing a game?
“Something needs to be done to investigate this game and for the children to be monitored and shown other games they can play.”
INVESTIGATE: CPF’s Abrahams
Western Cape Education Department (WCED) spokesperson, Bronagh Hammond, says the circuit manager responsible for schools in Hanover Park is not aware of the game.
“This is the first report of this nature. Schools should monitor playground practice.”
