Grassy Park police have launched a manhunt for a suspected hitman who has fled to Malmesbury after an innocent man was killed in a gang attack last year.
Grassy Park SAPS’ Colonel Dawood Laing says eight months after the massacre at a Lotus River take-aways they are still on the hunt for Gerard Daniels, aka Boere.
Three men, including a worker at the take-aways, died after a gunman opened fire in the winkel during a suspected gang hit on 9 September.
Police said Bismillah take-aways employee Usiman M’Bwana, 28, was killed along with two skollies who tried to run away from the gunman through the back of the shop.
At the time, Laing explained cops were called to the horrific triple murder scene shortly after 3pm that day, where they discovered that the two dead strangers were high-profile gangsters from Hillview.
A week later cops arrested two men, aged 25 and 22, who are members of the Dog Pounds gang in Lotus River.
“The investigation into the murder has revealed that Daniels has since fled to Malmesbury while his two co-accused remain in custody.
“We are appealing to Malmesbury residents to be on the lookout for him and please call us urgently.
“We are trying to get justice for the young man who was killed so brutally for no other reason than doing his job.”
If you know Daniels’ whereabouts, contact Detective Sergeant Clifton Slinger on 074 389 6578.
