A dom skollie from Hanover Park is back behind bars just a week after being released on parole after he was caught with a fake gun.
Excited residents living near Walvis Court took out their cellphones and snapped pictures of the ex-con as the Metro Police’ Gang and Drugs Task Team searched the man and found what appeared to be a real gun with a silencer attached to it.
BACK TO JAIL: Cops arresting the Hanover Park skollie
Metro Police spokesperson, Superintendent Ruth Solomons, says officers received numerous complaints of shooting taking place in the vicinity of Walvis Court over a two-day period and were busy patrolling the area when they spotted the skollie and searched him.
“Just after 6pm on Tuesday, officers patrolled the area and when they searched a man, they found a 4.55mm pellet gun with a silencer and a scope.
“He was arrested for being in possession of an imitation firearm and was taken to Philippi Police Station where officers discovered he was out on parole on charges of armed
robbery,” says Solomons.
IMITATION: Pellet gun and scope
She says while a silencer is normally used as a buffer to minimise the sound when firing and the scope is used for distance and accuracy, they do not know why the suspect would attach this to a pellet gun and he refused to co-operate and remained toebek.
