A Mitchells Plain woman has offered R1000 reward for news of her missing dog.
Carmen Abrahams, 36, from Rocklands is frantically searching for her pet Noby after he escaped from a doggie parlour in Eastridge on 27 July.
She says it was the first time she took her small Maltese poodle to the parlour on AZ Berman Drive.
Noby was due for a wash and haircut, and it’s believed the pooch panicked and ran off.
“He went to the parlour for a treat because he had long hair,” Carmen explains.
“After he finished, he ran out of the parlour and we heard he was later seen in Town Centre, on 29 July.”
She says Noby joined their family “by force” in November last year.
“He was our neighbour’s dog but used to come stand by our window every day until he eventually moved in with us,” says Carmen.
“We are offering R1000 to the person who returns Noby to us, we really miss him.”
The parlour owner took a picture of Noby shortly before he ran away.
Carmen says Noby is a friendly dog and loves taking naps.
“He gets annoyed if he is sleeping and someone is making a noise. He will get up, sigh and go sleep somewhere else.
“And he only eats his dry food if there is gravy on, he will go on a hunger strike if you don’t add gravy.”
Carmen says according to the parlour owner, Noby escaped from his harness and ran of.
