Thousands of Sassa beneficiaries were left disappointed on Monday after a glitch in the payment system halted
payouts.
According to Sassa director of communications and marketing, Sandy Godlwana, they were able to identify and resolve the problem.
She said people would be able to access that money today.
The error resulted in more than 435 000 beneficiaries receiving duplicate payments.

Sassa said banks needed to act quickly to reverse these payments.
Where this was not possible, Sassa would recover the funds from beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, Sassa urged pensioners and the disabled not to rush to get their funds.
Last month Sassa announced that to ensure compliance with the State of Disaster requirements and to protect the vulnerable, they would be staggering social grant payments.
Pensioners and the disabled were to be paid on Monday and today, and child support, foster child and the care dependency grants thereafter.

“Clients who access Sassa pay-points directly for their social grants may do so on 7 May 2020," Sassa says.
"Some older persons use one card to also receive child support and foster child grants.
"In such cases they will be able to access all linked grants from the 4th of every month.
"Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.
"There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day we deposit funds into your account.

"The SASSA card can be used as a debit card to pay for purchases, therefore it is not necessary to withdraw cash.”
