Two self-confessed skollies have reported officers of the Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) for allegedly bludgeoning their bums with spades and threatened to rape them on Sunday.
Franklin van Boom, 34, and Ronald Cupido, 42, from Manenberg were carried to safety by residents after they were beaten unconscious by cops who allegedly tortured them for four hours.
Van Boom says he was walking through a gangetjie near Red River Street when cops pulled up.
“They said I am the leader of the Jesters and started moering me,” he says.
“They wanted to know about guns, but every time I tried to answer, they moered me further.
“They put a plank over my face and they trapped it stukkend and you can see the marks on my eyes.”

Cupido says he, Van Boom and a third victim were taken to a yard where they were repeatedly beaten.
“I was standing in front of my house and they just grabbed me and took me, Franky and another guy to a yard,” he says.
“They chased the people out of the yard and tortured us. They made us lie on top of each other as they moered me with a spade on my chest.”
Van Boom says each time the men lost consciousness, water would be poured over them to wake them up as groups of five cops took turns to moer them.
“They put a black seil on my head and I couldn’t breathe. They hit my bum with a spade until my bum was bleeding,” he says.
Van Boom says a cheeky cop allegedly used the spade to spread his bum cheeks and threatened to rape him.
“He told me if I don’t say where the guns are, they will take me in the van and n*** me.”

Cupido says as Van Boom bled, cops humiliated them further.
“They took me and shoved my whole face in his bum,” he says.
“I can’t tell you how we feel. We were uitgeskut by police before and we know if they catch us with a ding, then we stand for it, but never have we been tortured.
“They even threw a concrete block on my foot.”

Police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut says they have no record of the incident, but says police brutality is condemned.
“The complainants are encouraged to report the alleged incident to the management of Manenberg police station so that an investigation can be launched.”

Van Boom and Cupido met with senior cops at Manenberg on Wednesday and were told to complete J88 forms so the matter could be referred to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.
“We are going ahead with our case against them. They left us there to die and just drove away,” Van Boom explains.
