A Mitchells Plain woman says she’s been made to walk on stones after she paid a contractor to tar her yard, but he failed to finish the job.
Rashieda Stober, 52, from Rocklands says it’s been a month since she contracted Walker Civils to tar her backyard, but all it has done so far is dump klippe in her yard.
Rashieda says she paid Muneeb Walker from Delft a R3 000 deposit in December but he is yet to complete the job and only comes up with excuses.
“Muneeb approached my daughter while they were working down the road and asked me to contact him. I called the next day and he offered to tar my yard, which was just sand, for R7 000,” Rashieda explains.
She says she gave him the deposit of R3 000 in two payments on 19 and 20 December.
Muneeb brought two helpers and they threw stones on one part of the yard.
“After December 20, I had to constantly call him and ask where he was. He told me he is using my monies to complete another job, which is not right.

“I called him last Friday to come and get his stones and refund me. He told me he no longer has the money.
“I just want my money back or the job must be done so my yard can look decent,” an angry Rashieda says.
Walker admitted to botching the job.
“I contacted her today (yesterday) and told her I will definitely finish the job on Monday. I will only throw stones to level the yard, as she has only paid R3 000,” Walker says.
