Cops are hunting for the killers of a taxi driver who was gunned down inside his van at a garage in Kleinvlei.
Police were called to the Total filling station in Stratford Avenue, Beverley Park, at about 6.30pm on Monday.
The 53-year-old man was identified by family members as Rudolph Booysen.
Messages went viral on social media, claiming Booysen had been wiped out by three gunmen.
Booysen, of Roosendal, was found sprawled on the front seat of his taxi with a gunshot wound to the chest.
It is unclear whether he had been alone at the time of the attack after rumours spread that there were two people in the van with him.
It’s believed Booysen had dropped off his gaatjie before heading to the garage.

DISTRAUGHT: Rudolph’s family at the murder scene crying
“Police detectives are following up on leads in an effort to bring those responsible to book.”
Booysen’s distraught family members arrived at the scene where his wife and his mother burst into tears and had to be consoled.
On Tuesday daughter, who did not want to be named, said the family was not prepared to speak about the incident.
“We are in the grieving stage and we are not going to comment at this stage,” she said.
Last week, a taxi driver in Eerste River was also shot and killed.
The driver, only identified as Monray, had apparently dropped off his gaatjie in Cabral Road, Forest Glade, and died in a hail of bullets when suspects opened fire on him.
It’s believed Monray moved from Beaufort West two months ago after working for a cooldrink company there.
