Corrine Jackson, 20, was expected to appear at the Mitchells Plain Magistrate's Court on Wednesday but the matter was postponed to today.
Jackson, who allegedly tried to commit suicide by stabbing herself, had to wait for hours at the Mitchell’s Plain District Hospital and the Heideveld hospital to see a district surgeon on Wednesday but none was available.
The young woman, of Woodlands in Mitchells Plain, is accused of murdering her friend, Nadine Esterhuizen, 18, of Portland last Wednesday.

Nadine was visiting her sister in Keeno Street, Colorado, when Jackson allegedly killed her. Nadine’s sister told the Daily Voice her fiance found the meisie in a pool of blood in the kitchen, and that her hair had been cut.
She said a cup filled with blood, with Nadine’s hair in it, was also on the scene.
On the floor, the killer spelt the word ‘sorry’ with Nadine’s hair.
SUSPECT: Corrine Jackson, 20
Jackson was found inside a locked toilet at the house, allegedly holding a knife. She is currently being held in the female hospital section of Pollsmoor Prison.
Nadine was a matriculant at Athlone High School. Relatives have since denied the two were in a same-sex relationship.
The sister said Jackson had been obsessed with Nadine. The two met in December. Jackson’s family was at court on Wednesday, but refused to comment on the matter.
