Cops have arrested three
suspects after they were found in possession of the car of a woman who has been missing since Saturday.
The trio from Pelican Park were busted on Tuesday after they were found with Meghan Cremer’s white Toyota Auris, with the registration CX 29727.
The group will appear at the Athlone Magistrates’ Court, this week on a charge of
possession of stolen property.
The 30-year-old woman was last seen in her car, on Saturday 3 August, at about 6.30pm. She was leaving her home in
Rietvlei, Philippi.
Police say Meghan did not return home and did not arrive at work on Monday.
It’s alleged that the vehicle was spotted in the vicinity of Wynberg with an unknown
person driving it.
Police spokesperson, Siyabulela Malo, explains:
“Philippi police can confirm that the search for the missing
person still continues and all leads are being followed up.
“Three suspects aged 27, 34 and 35 have been arrested after they were found in possession of stolen property.
“Police detectives are
following up all possible leads in order to establish if there is a link to the suspects that have been arrested and the missing
person.
“All three suspects are expected to make a court appearance at the Athlone Magistrates’ Court once they are charged for possession of
suspected stolen property.”
Meghan was dressed in a green top and black tracksuit pants.
