The owner of a motor spares shop in Elsies River is traumatised after his workshop burned to the ground along with two cars one of the mechanics were working on.
According to the owner of Laani Motors, situated at 83 Halt Road, an electrical fault is the cause of the fire that burned two cars parked on the premises and completely destroyed the Wendy house he used as a workshop.
According to Morné Lotriet, an electrical fault inside the Wendy house started the blaze that quickly spread, destroying the entire structure and the white Geely belonging to a customer, along with his sister’s blue Chevrolet Spark.
The security guard on duty suffered from smoke inhalation.

Morné says he is devastated and has been directing customers to his home.
“It is both sad and very traumatic. We have been there for a few years now and people know the company and depend on our value for money,” he says.
“I will continue doing the best I can from my house.”
