The body of a 25-year-old man from Kraaifontein was found with multiple stab wounds, dumped on a field next to a paadjie that goes to the Eikenfontein Train Station.
Wayne ‘Valie’ Scott was stabbed in his neck, chest and stomach, but there was so much blood, people thought he had been shot.
A passer-by, on the way to the station, found him on the field which runs between Van der Merwe and Milton streets.
There was a blood trail near the body and it is believed he was killed elsewhere and dumped there.
His 46-year-old mother tells the Daily Voice: “Police detectives told us he was dumped there and that he was stabbed.
“We thought he had been shot, by the way the wounds looked. I am very shocked and heartbroken.”
A neighbour said Wayne was a nice guy who helped the community.
“He walked everyone to the station in the morning. People used to get robbed, but they could depend on him to take them safely to the station in the morning. It is very sad that he was killed this way,” the neighbour says.
Police spokesman, Captain FC van Wyk, says a case of murder is being investigated by Kraaifontein SAPS.
“The victim was found with multiple stab wounds on an open field in Milton Street, Scottsville, Kraaifontein at around 9am.”
