A 20-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed a father and son and wounded two others landed up in hospital after community members moered to him to a bloody pulp.
A video, which has been doing the rounds on social media, shows 50 angry people beating and kicking the alleged shooter before he is rescued by cops.
Police say the officers arrived at a scene in Taaibos Street, where Victor “Vicky” Adams, 43, a suspected leader of the Sexy Boys gang in Lentegeur, and his 20-year-old son were shot and killed in their driveway just after 2pm.
The two were shot multiple times and died on the scene.
A 19-year-old woman and another man were injured during the same shooting and taken to a nearby hospital.
According to neighbours and a friend of Victor’s, the shooter came dressed in a white salaah top and a white turban on his head and spoke to Victor, who was sitting in his garage with the three other victims.
“They had some sort of argument a few days ago. We don’t know exactly what it was about. He just rocked up, threatened the four of them sitting in the garage and opened fire,” the neighbour said.
VICTIM: Victor Adams, 43
The resident said they only know the shooter as “Peanut”, who ran off after the shooting.
As he ran down the road, a private security company who dropped off staff gave chase and shot him in the leg.
“That’s when the community found out what was going on and they just attacked him where he lay on the ground. He was beaten and kicked and I think he passed out,” says the neighbour.
In the video, Peanut is seen trying to protect his head as he is kicked and beaten up by an angry mob, as men and women scream for people to moer him.
Police officers eventually manage to drag him towards a van where the unconscious man is loaded into the back.
The neighbour says despite being a skollie, people liked Victor.

“Vicky took care of his community and despite his gangster status, people went to him for help and he helped,” he adds.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut, said they arrested the man on Wednesday.
“At 1.30pm a 20-year-old suspect was detained by police for two murders and two attempted murder charges after he was apprehended by security officers in Taaibos Road,” he said.
“It is alleged that the suspect opened fire at four people sitting in a garage. Two males, aged 43 and 20, were fatally wounded and a 19-year-old female and an unknown person were shot and wounded. The suspect fled on foot and was cornered by security officers who were in the area. He was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm.”
