An alleged dik ding of the Six Bobs gang appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court after he and his two accomplices were caught with R2 000 worth of tik on Tuesday.
According to a source, the 41-year-old man is a relative of alleged gang boss, Desmond Swartz, who runs the drug turf in Lotus River.
Law Enforcement spokesperson, Wayne Dyason, says shortly after 5am, officers were patrolling the area around the Rooikrans Sports field when they spotted a suspicious vehicle.
“The officers were checking up on the facility as a result of break-ins when they saw the car in 8th Avenue,” says Dyason.
“It was standing close to the facility, but they were not selling the drugs there. As officers searched the vehicle, they found 43 packets of tik and R365 in cash. It was mostly coins.

“They arrested the two men, aged 29 and 41, and a 27-year-old woman and took them to Grassy Park Police Station. All three suspects are from Lotus River.”
Grassy Park station commander, Colonel Dawood Laing, confirms the arrest and says the vigilant Law Enforcement officers confiscated tik worth R2 000 and the trio were arrested on possession charges.

“The 41-year-old male is a known gang leader figure and suspects are affiliated with a prominent gang in Lotus River.”
“In order to alleviate such crime, it is best to remove the criminals from the community and bring them to book. The reward system proves to be fruitful. This system allows any adult to become proactively involved in the prevention of crime.”
