Golden Arrow Bus Services has good news for commuters, announcing an extension on their gold cards (clip cards).
Only commuters purchasing monthly (48 rides) or weekly cards (10 rides) will qualify for the extension.
The extension will come into effect after commuters purchase their weekly or monthly cards after Monday.
Golden Arrow spokesperson, Bronwen Dyke-Beyer, says the extension on the cards comes after a review of the passenger usage percentage.
“Golden Arrow’s Automated Fare Collection System provides us with a wealth of data, which the company is using to ensure that our service offerings are aligned with the needs of our passengers,” she says.
“We have decided to increase the validity periods on two of our products as passenger travel data indicates that this will address the concerns of the small percentage of passengers who are not making full use of their products.”
A 20 percent increase on the validity of trips will be added.
“Weekly products will be extended by three days and monthly products by six days - an increase of up to 20%.”
“This means that all 10-ride multi-journey products bought after 8 April will now be valid for 17 days and 48-ride products bought after 8 April will be valid for 43 days. Pensioner multi-journey products will remain valid for 60 days,” Dyke-Beyer added.
