Judge Robert Henney excused everyone from court on Tuesday morning as two witnesses testified in camera in the murder trial of baby Zahnia Woodward at the Western Cape High Court.
Christopher September, Larry Johnson, Tashwill Kriel, Morne May and Mirriam Johnson face charges of murder, attempted murder and obstruction of justice.
The four men are accused of driving Larry’s white VW Golf and opening fire on Zahnia’s dad Bradley Robyn and his friends on 30 December 2016 in Carnation Road, Ocean View.
The baby was sitting on Bradley’s lap and was shot in the head.
On Monday, Larry Johnson testified he was nowhere near Ocean View when Zahnia was killed and although his car was used during the shooting, he did not know by whom.
According to Larry, a female witness who had been with him in Masiphumelele when the shooting happened was too afraid to speak out.
It is believed this woman testified in court on Tuesday.
Larry also claimed Zahnia’s parents, Bradley and Cindy Woodward, were conspiring to frame him for their baby’s murder.
Cindy says she is tired of the accused’s “liegstories”.
“They must stop coming with all these stories. They know what they did and they need to take responsibility for stripping my life from me. They took her from us and they need to be punished,” she said.
Larry’s mother, Mirriam, told police September had come with two men to her house to clean the guns used in the shooting and that her son had told her to get rid of his car.
