The two appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates' Court, where the State withdrew the case based on merit, the court heard.
Van Breda, 22, is also on trial at the Western Cape High Court where he stands accused of killing his parents and older brother with an axe at their home outside Stellenbosch in January 2015.
Henri and his girlfriend were arrested in Table View in September last year.
Daniella Janse van Rensburg was freed on R200 bail, while Henri was held overnight and made bail of R1 000 the next day.
Wearing a dark grey suit, an unshaven Henri sat next to Daniella, holding her hands as they waited for proceedings to begin.
There were no conditions set on Van Breda, but his girlfriend was ordered to attend sessions with a psychologist based on recommendations made by the National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders (Nicro).
Van Breda’s lawyer Pieter Botha said: “The Directorate of Prosecutions, after studying the docket, found that there were no merits for the charges as my client has been saying all along.”
Eric Ntabazalila for the National Prosecuting Authority said Daniella took responsibility for the drugs which were found in her handbag.
“The accused were arrested when they acted suspiciously while sitting in a parked vehicle. A so-called bong and loose dagga worth approximately R600 were found inside the vehicle.”
Henri and his legal team will now focus on his murder trial set to start in two weeks.
