Residents in Lentegeur were shocked on Sunday morning when they learnt that a fire at a local primary school was
deliberately started by two young boys who were caught on
camera.
Dark smoke billowed from the premises just after 2pm and police and Fire and Rescue Services were called to the scene.
Authorities say a car from AC Security, stationed at the perimeter fence of the school, was set alight by the two stoute laaities.
The flames were doused by firefighters and the school’s property was not damaged while no injuries were reported.
The Western Cape Education Department said the two
arsonists have since been identified as pupils from a neighbouring school and will be dealt with by the police.
