Murder accused Corrine Jackson wants her bail conditions to be amended so that she can move back to Mitchell’s Plain.
Jackson, 22, appeared in the Mitchell’s Plain Regional Court on Friday where her Legal Aid lawyer, Miss L. Boer, asked for her bail conditions to be changed as the accused is currently prohibited from entering Mitchell’s Plain.
She was granted bail of R5000 at the Cape Town High Court in June 2018, and ordered to live in Stellenbosch.
Jackson was previously denied bail when it was found she could pose a danger to others.
She was set to go on trial, but the matter has been postponed. She is in consultation with her new lawyer, after she could no longer afford her private attorney, William Booth.
Prosecutors are set to prove Jackson stabbed her girlfriend, Nadine Esterhuizen, 18, to death, in Colorado Park in September 2017.
Jackson was found hiding in the toilet with a bloody dagger and a chopping knife.
Nadine, who was in matric at the time, had also obtained a protection order against Jackson and had opened a case of assault following an incident where she was attacked at Strandfontein Pavilion in July 2017.
Friday’s matter was postponed to 21 November for further consultation.
Outside court, Nadine’s heartbroken mom, Vanessa Esterhuizen, said her daughter would have celebrated her 21st birthday last month.
“That was a very sad day for us because her killer, that girl, took away Nadine’s matric, her 21st and her dreams.
“We pray this will be her final Christmas outside.”
