Seven witnesses were interviewed and consulted on Thursday to prepare themselves to testify against murder accused Corrine Jackson.
But the trial could not start as Jackson’s
lawyer failed to arrive at court due to illness.
Magistrate Mary Jacuw postponed the matter to 3 April.
The witnesses include police, family, friends and the first person on the scene who had found the body of Nadine Esterhuizen, 18, Corrine’s estranged girlfriend, at her sister’s rented house in Colorado Park in September 2017.
STABBED: Nadine, 18
Jackson is yet to plead to her charge of murder.
Jackson, 23, was found inside a locked bathroom with two knives.
During her bail application, she claimed she had acted in self- defence after Nadine attacked her.
But police revealed that the wounds were self-inflicted and placed Jackson on suicide watch.
CASE: Corrine Jackson
In December, Jackson indicated she was ready to enter a plea agreement, but this was rejected by the State.
Jackson is out on R5000 bail.
It is alleged she killed Nadine, 18, in a fit of rage after the teen had broken up with her.
