A 25-year-old man appeared in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court today after he was piemped by his 11-year-old neighbour who accused him of raping her in his house on Sunday.
According to a relative, the girl had gone to play next door to her home in Mono Street, Delft, at about 8.30am and this is when the neighbour grabbed her, undressed her and raped her.
He let her go afterwards and the girl ran home where she informed her family and they went next door to confront the alleged child rapist.
Angry family members stormed his home and began to interrogate him.
He allegedly admitted to the sick act and the family, with the help of neighbours, held him prisoner in his house until police arrived.

The 25-year-old was arrested and the girl was taken to a hospital.
A 46-year-old relative of the girl says: “He has lived here for a while and the family knows him as not a bad man. This is very disturbing.”
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, confirmed the incident: “An 11-year-old girl has been raped at a house in Mono Street, Leiden, Delft.
“It is alleged that on Sunday, 28 July, at approximately 8.30am, the victim was at the house of a neighbour when she was allegedly raped.
“A 25-year-old male has been arrested and he will appear in the Bellville Magistrates’ Court.
“Delft police have registered a case of rape and the investigation continues.”
