A Bellville woman says she fears for her and her 12-year-old daughter’s safety after being cyberbullied for two months.
Michelle Wilson, 40 from Tyger Falls says she joined a Facebook page called Nigerians in Eastern Cape, and witnessed a female member being taunted by a male member.
“One day I stood up for a woman after Wyllem Mahinga shared this woman’s daughter’s tombstone and made fun of it,” she said.
“Wyllem told me I will regret what I just did and I was immediately removed from the group. I don’t even know this man. I have never met him.”
Things then escalated to a point where she was called a prostitute.
THREAT: Wyllem and wife Ayanda
“He was taking pictures from my Facebook profile, sharing my picture and saying I am a prostitute. He said I am selling my daughter in Parow for food,” says Michelle.
“He told me if he should see my daughter he would rape her, and harm will come to me. He says I live in Eerste River. All of this is untrue.”
The victimisation has affected Michelle so bad she barely leaves the house.
“Sometimes I just sit and cry. If he wants to come after me, come, why bring my daughter into this?
“He is a sick person, and his wife is in on this. I have tried to open a case with police, took all my screenshots and everything, but I was told a week later by the detective the case is closed.
“I fear for the safety of me and my daughter. Anything can happen,” says the distraught vrou.
ATTACK: Wyllem's post of Michelle
Daily Voice contacted Mahinga via Messenger on the same account he allegedly shamed Michelle with and the response, allegedly from his wife, was: “This is a lie. The group, all those people, hate my husband and me. They have been faking my husband’s account for so long now.
“They are a bunch of liars who will do anything to see my husband’s name being tarnished.
“My husband is at work and he will be back later, that’s why I reply on his behalf.
“I will advise you to stay far away from those people they are devils.
“I don’t even trust you, maybe you one of them.”
Soon after talking with reporters, Ayanda went on Facebook calling Michelle a ‘foolish woman’ for going to the newspapers.
