A Bonteheuwel man is lucky to be alive, thanks to quick-thinking Law Enforcement officers who rushed him to hospital after he was shot.
The officers, who were patrolling Bonteheuwel on Sunday, were alerted by a man inside a BMW, who was flashing his headlights at them.
Law Enforcement spokesperson, Inspector Wayne Dyason, says when the officers stopped, they found the man was shot and his windscreen riddled with bullet holes.
Dyason says the man begged the officers to take him to hospital as he feared he was going to bleed to death if he waited for an ambulance.
“At approximately 7pm on 15 September, Law Enforcement officers were patrolling in Bonteheuwel Avenue when they were flagged down by a member of the public stating that shots were being fired in Smalblaar Road.
“The officers made their way to Smalblaar Road when they noticed a BMW behind them flashing his headlights constantly and hooting.
