Cops are hunting for three skelms who appeared to have mistimed their robbery of a liquor store in Khayelitsha.
Instead of getting the day’s takings, the trio only got away with a small amount of money, some dop and staff members’ cellphones.
The skelms threatened staff at gunpoint at the Shoprite Liquor Store in Makhaza.
Sources reveal the diewe were unlucky as the store’s cash was collected by Fidelity guards just minutes before the robbery took place.

Police spokesperson, Siyabulela Malo, explains: “The circumstances surrounding a business robbery that occurred [on Wednesday] around 5.05pm at 36 block in Makhaza are being investigated.
“According to reports police members responded to a complaint at the mentioned address and it has been reported that three unknown [men] entered a liquor store and threatened the store personnel with a firearm and demanded ... liquor, store property including a cellular phone and fled the scene.

“A case of business robbery has been opened for investigation. No arrests made so far.
“Our detectives are working around the clock in an effort to bring the perpetrators to book.”
Sources reveal the Fidelity truck had made a collection moments before the skelms arrived and that the diewe only managed to get away with a R1000 float that was in the till.
Corné Rubber, of the private security company TSU Protection Services, says their team rushed to the scene and arrived before cops.
“The thieves managed to get away with some cash and cellphones, but there was not much intervention from our side as we only got there after the incident,” he adds.
