The families of two Khayelitsha boys who went missing last week say they have followed up every lead, but have still not found them.
The seven-year-olds, Linathi Ntshonga and Miyolo Gwinta, vanished last Thursday.
They reportedly got in the back of a moving truck at BM Section, which was on its way to Bosasa in Mfuleni.
The truck driver told the family when he noticed the boys on the truck, he stopped and let them off.
Linathi’s father Lungisani, 39, says: “I went to Mfuleni to look for them and they are not there and no one has seen them since Thursday.
“The truck driver said he dropped them off by Mew Way and then left.
“I have been to hospitals and mortuaries and they are not there either.
“This is draining us because every time we hear of an accident or a recovered body, we rush to the scene.
“We don’t sleep or eat, we are worried and fear for the worst.”
Linathi and Miyolo were playing near their homes when they jumped into a truck that was moving people from the BM Section to Bosasa that afternoon.
Miyolo’s grandma Kholeka Gwinta, 49, explains: “They came back from school, changed their clothes after eating and then went to play around 3pm.
“It was around 6pm when I got really worried because they are usually home by that time.
“We went to check where they usually play and we were told by one of their peers that they left with a truck.
“We got into one of the trucks so we could search in Bosasa and when we got there, they were not there and we were told they were dropped off in Khayelitsha.”
She says they went to the police who opened a missing persons file for the boys.
Miyolo was wearing a navy hoodie and Linathi a striped polo neck top.
Police spokesman Colonel André Traut confirms that Khayelitsha SAPS are investigating the case.
Any person with information regarding the whereabouts of the boys is requested to contact Khayelitsha FCS on 082 301 8910 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
