Police have detailed 11 suspects over the killing of 13 people in a series of shootings in Site B, Khayelitsha on Saturday.
They were detained on Monday morning at a hotel in Sea Point, said police spokesperson Novela Potelwa. Potelwa said the suspected were being questioned with a view to charging them later.

The first body was found in Banzi Street with several gunshot wounds, next to a firearm at 10am on Saturday. Police also found a substantial amount of cash, with several other shootings reported in the area later that afternoon.

One died on the scene and the other was seriously wounded and taken to a medical facility.
In RR Section, three other men were shot dead in an incident believed to be linked to the first two.
At a spaza shop in Y-Block two other men were killed after being shot, one in the yard and another in a vehicle.
Police say reports also indicate that two other Somali nationals were shot close to a spaza shop in the area. One died on the scene while the other was transported to hospital where he later died.
Western Cape acting police commissioner Thembisile Patekile had instituted a 72-hour activation plan for the mobilisation of resources that will lead to the apprehension of the perpetrators shortly after the murders.
“The task team comprising Lockdown II forces, intelligence officials, organised crime detectives and a combat contingent pounced on the suspects at a hotel in Sea Point at about 3am,” said Potelwa.
“Since inception, the multi-disciplinary team has been working around the clock in search of the suspects. Major General Patekile has expressed appreciation for the relentless efforts of the team. Once charged the suspects will face murder and attempted murder charges. As the investigations progress more charges could be added,” said Potelwa.
