South Africa's power utility Eskom on Monday reported a net loss after tax of R2.3 billion for the year ended March 31, companred with a R900 million profit for 2017.
Cash-strapped Eskom, which is grappling with the fallout from allegations of corruption against now-former senior executives, said it had secured 22 percent of its funding requirement for 2018/19 to date.
"Eskom continues to face significant financial and liquidity challenges in the short to medium term, mainly due to the high debt burden, low sales growth and increased finance costs," it said.
