On Saturday, Sanco slammed the Economic Freedom Fighters leader for calling on black people to have more babies.

The call was outrageous and irresponsible, Sanco national spokesman Jabu Mahlangu said.

Malema reportedly told black South Africans to “continue to reproduce for their legacy to continue and for black people to remain dominant”.

He made the remark while mobilising for the EFF’s coming election manifesto launch in Soweto.

Juju accused white people of trying to discourage blacks from having many children because they want to reduce the population so that they can take over politically.

Malema said: “Give birth and expand because if we do not make children, we are going to disappear as a Black nation. To make children is a revolutionary duty‚ because children represent reproduction of society.

“And when you reproduce yourself, you reproduce your ideas and legacy.

“White people do not want us to give birth because they know we are more than them. So that they can be more than us and the day they are more than us they will take over our land.”

But Mahlangu was not impressed, and said such “hollow rhetoric” would perpetuate a cycle of poverty for black people.

“Such illogical gibberish will push poor people into deeper poverty if it’s taken seriously by the ignorant in our society,” Mahlangu said.

He said mense should rather be using more condoms.

“The myopic pronouncement must be rejected with the contempt that it deserves. Malema’s ignorance regarding the importance of family planning and the huge rewards it has towards poverty reduction and economic development is a cause for concern,” he said.

Mahlangu urged women to take advantage of contraceptives available free of charge at state hospitals and clinics to reduce abortions and unplanned pregnancies.
