Now the Grade 10 pupil at Atlantis Secondary been invited to play in the under-19 tournament in April.
Chelsea says: “I am really happy and excited about this opportunity. This would mean so much to me as it would be my first time travelling abroad and the experience I could gain at this tournament I can bring home and share with my teammates.”
Since the age of 12, the centre back has been playing at club and provincial level and has captained every team she’s played for.
But her idols are not the Ronaldos and Messis of the football world.
“My biggest role model is my mother. She loves sports as much as I do and she herself is a sportswoman. She’s a hard worker and is always dedicated,” Chelsea says.
