Cops nabbed two suspects on Sunday night after raiding a home in Grassy Park, where they found a room full of perly.
Police spokeswoman Debbie Alard said the arrests happened at 10.45pm, after the Cape Town Railway Police were tipped off about the abalone-processing facility in Grassy Park.
“On arrival at the premises, they found two rooms with various items of equipment.”
A third room was being used as a drying room with “numerous shelves of abalone in the process of being dried”.
The two suspects, aged 27 and 41, would make their court appearance as soon as they were charged.
