Six skollies from Heideveld accused of running a pella pos and disturbing the peace were busted after the house was raided by cops who found a stash of drugs and guns.
Manenberg SAPS commander, Brigadier Sanele Zama, says the house in Groenberg Street has been at the centre of complaints.
He says on Wednesday, the Flying Squad were brought in to patrol the streets amid a gang war between the Fancy Boys and Americans.
“The officers were busy with high density patrols just after 1am when the members were stopped by an informer giving information that at an address in Groenberg Road that gangsters were keeping out at a certain address and that a firearm and drugs were also kept at this address.
“The officers immediately followed up on the information received and raided the house.”
He says during the search cops discovered a .22 firearm with the serial number still intact, two magazines, 21 rounds of ammunition as well as six pakkies of tik and five mandrax pille.
“The owner and five others found in the house were arrested on charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of tik and Mandrax.
“Among those arrested is a 39-year-old woman and five men aged between 25 and 56.
“They are members of the Americans gang and have been running that drug house for some time.
“Residents have made many complaints as the druggies go in and out and the community feels unsafe.
“The suspects will appear on Friday in the Athlone Magistrates’ Court.”
