Give the laaities a much-deserved break and officially kick off their Summer holidays on Friday with the much-awaited animated fliek, Frozen 2.
Sometimes a sequel is a let-down, but early reviews are calling this one a “visual knockout” and “one of the most beautifully animated films” that is “better than the first”.
It’s set three years after the first film and follows Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Sven and oulike Olaf (Josh Gad) as they go on a dangerous journey. They are going beyond Arendelle’s borders to find out the origin of Elsa’s magical powers.
You see, the frosty queen is hearing voices - but, don’t worry, she isn’t mal in the kop. The voices are calling her, giving her answers and showing her the past. But it also poses a threat to the kingdom.
The fliek highlights the belief in love, acceptance and sisterhood, as, without Ana, Elsa would lose herself to the magic. In Frozen 1 Elsa fears her powers are too much for the world. Now she hopes they are enough.
