Singer and actor Loukmaan Adams says he is furious after someone catfished him and continues to pretend to be him on social media.
He is now warning his fans not to donate any money or goods in his name.
The dad of three says he first discovered the fake profile on 7 April when someone alerted him to it.
“At first I thought it was cute that someone pretended to be me by using my picture as a profile picture, but it became scary when the person started asking people for money, airtime and other ‘donations’ for causes,” he says.
“I was forwarded screenshots from my friends to show me the constant posts from this person with the name ‘Luqmaan Adams’. I don’t know who it is, if it’s a male or female, but this is a crime.
“This person is asking for entjies and offering to give food parcels to women who can’t fast due to periods this is madness.”

“I’m trying my best to help my community, but I’d never ask people to donate money and airtime to me.
“I don’t know why anyone would do such a thing. I don’t have any bad vibes or obsessed fans that I know of.
“Whoever you are, stop it!
“I know times are tough and people do crazy things to get money or cigarettes, but I don’t understand, why me?”
The upset star says he wants to warn people about the fake account and the dangers of catfishing.
“I know you can’t control social media, but this is rather weird that it would happen to me,” he says.
“It’s really disturbing that this person is taking this time to post with a fake account. I really hope nobody was affected by this or gave anything to this person.”
Loukmaan, 42, is now asking for help find the scammer.

“I already sent a direct message via Facebook inbox and asked the person to stop, but it just carried on,” he says.
“I also reported it to Facebook, but I got an automated response that says Facebook is currently full of Covid-19 cases and my case will be in a queue.
“Is there anyone who can help me track this fake Facebook account or just have it removed?
“I don’t want it to get ugly or harm anyone. I just want this person to stop asking people for stuff and making silly posts, in my name.”
It appears as if the person opens and closes the account at will.
When the Daily Voice checked the profile on Wednesday it was active, but by last night the account could not be found.
