Maak My Famous winner Cheswyn Ray is hosting his first online show this Sunday.
The 24-year-old Worcester singer was crowned the first winner of MMF in 2019, a music talent show co-created by Emo Adams.
Cheswyn’s show is called Lunchtime Live, and he plans to dazzle his fans with a blend of R&B, soul and a dash of gospel music.
Cheswyn says his show will be an invitation into his personal space: “It’s scary not being in front of an audience, and it’s not the same as doing a live performance, here you have to create your own vibe.
“I’m excited, it’s time to take people on my journey, it’s about what happened after the cameras died on Maak My Famous.
“I will speak about who I was before MMF and after. People can expect something super intimate and personal, I will also be releasing new music on the show.
“Those who bought their tickets will be first to see and hear my latest music.”
Immediately after his win, Cheswyn released his debut single A Reason in September, written by Jarrad Ricketts, and is currently working on his next single.
He hopes to release a full album soon and is currently in studio writing and composing some new material – including Afrikaans and English songs.
The virtual live show is on Sunday at 2pm from Pennylane Studios, get tickets at R70 via Quicket.
