Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung is unapologetic after sharing lastige journalists’ private information on social media.
The drama started when Julia Madibogo of City Press approached the Idols judge for comment on allegations that he was divorcing his husband, Mohale Motaung-Mhlongo.
Somizi replied via text message: “Please make my year and write the story as I will sue the living hell out of you and your publication for this crap you are asking me….get your facts right or go join Sunday World.”
He posted a screengrab of the text on Instagram saying: “So @city_press has become a tabloid...okay...two can play that game…” and asked his followers to call her.
Next in the firing line was Sunday World editor Kabelo Khumalo wanting comment on allegations that production on the cooking show, Dinner at Somizi’s, has been put on hold amid legal proceedings.
Somizi deleted the posts, but South African National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) has called for action against him saying he must apologise.
