The brakes were applied to Zodwa Wabantu’s dream of owning a Lamborghini – by the SA Revenue Service course.
The dancer confirmed she got a call from Sars after breking on social media with her alleged recent purchase of the R8 million sports car, complete with a moerse red bow.
Zodwa, 35, told IOL she was shocked to receive a “letter of demand” from Sars after posting a video celebrating what looked like her buying a Lamborghini Aventador.
She said she would be meeting with her accountant, adding: “I’m not educated, so I just forwarded him the SMS, so he can advise me accordingly.”
The Zodwa Wabantu: Uncensored star said she’s not in the position to confirm nor deny the purchase of the kwaai ride.
“My accountant will advise me on the way forward,” she said.
Mense wondered if Zodwa’s egg business has been doing so well that she could afford a luxury Italian sports car.
This after the reality TV star announced in December that she would be selling eggs and live chickens under her brand.
BrandonTheDon asked on Instagram: “Is this profit from the eggs business?”
Meanwhile businessman-turned-politician Kenny “Sushi King” Kunene told the Daily Sun: “Zodwa has decided not to buy the car anymore because after she posted the video she got a call from Sars demanding to meet with her.”
The dancer shocked mense when she announced she’s now a card-carrying member and politician in Kenny’s Patriotic Alliance party.
Kenny wrote on Instagram: “I believe in Zodwa, as a leader in her own right, and her helping the poor qualifies her to be involved in the politics of the PA which is to genuinely change the lives of our people.”
