Two local legends of the small screen will be starring together for the first time in a brand-new Afrikaans sitcom.
Lui Maar Op, Belinda stars veteran actresses Brümilda van Rensburg and Annelisa Weiland and will premier on kykNET on 8 July.
Other cast members joining the soapie queens include Eric Nobbs (Frans), Duncan Johnson (Ian) and Carmen Maarman (Maggie), from Auntie Merle The Musical.
An excited Carmen tells the Daily Voice: “This is my first major TV role and it is so exciting.
“At first I was so starstruck with Brümilda and Annelisa, I had to pinch myself that I’ve got this amazing opportunity to act opposite them.
“I’m learning so much from my fellow actors and I think viewers are going to be pleasantly surprised with Lui maar op, Belinda.”
The sitcom is set in George where all the characters, who are a bit of an odd bunch, work at a general dealer.
Brümilda adds: “The production quality of Lui maar op, Belinda is going to wow everyone.
“Not only is it an impressive cast, but the scripts are really good.”
Brumilda will play Belinda and Annelisa plays Annetjie and viewers can expect lekker laughs.
Other big names to make guest appearances includ Marion Holm, Denise Newman, Hannes van Wyk, Therese Benade and Eden Classens.
Lui maar op, Belinda is recorded at Atlantic Studios in Cape Town, which is also the home of productions such as Suidooster en Tussen Ons.
